Canonical seeks a remote Senior Software Engineer to optimize Ubuntu across the full Linux stack for new PC and IoT hardware. The role involves partnering with major silicon companies and collaborating in a globally distributed team. What you will do • Design and implement Ubuntu integration for IoT and server hardware • Work with partners to deliver an optimized Ubuntu experience • Provide technical plans, testing strategy, and quality metrics inputs • Participate as technical lead on complex customer engagements • Help customers integrate apps, SDKs, and build device OS images • Optimize applications with Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server What they ask for • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM or similar • Experience with Linux packaging (Debian, RPM, Yocto) • Experience working with open source communities and licences • Experience working with C, C++ • Ability to work in a globally distributed team
